Last night’s wine: Jacob’s Creek Shiraz Cabernet

Happy Friday!  I won’t be on the web much this weekend as we have family from Ontario visiting and we’ll be out and about in the sun!

Here’s a quick review of the wine we had with supper last night.

3242Jacob’s Creek is one of my “go to” brands when it comes to Australian wine.  I find their wine to be exceptional for the price; both their shiraz and chardonnay are better than Wolf Blass and I love their sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir which is also now available locally.  The Shiraz Cabernet blend was a full bodied wine that had a jammy texture but went down very smooth.  Heavy on the plum and cheery flavours with hints of berries.  It was a good pairing with chicken and pasta, and would also work well with beef or lamb.  Price: $14.29 @ NBLS
